Made in France, this age-old delicacy of Mediterranean bordering countries is considered to be the oceanic version of parmesan. The bottarga is dipped in wax for preservation. It can be enjoyed sliced or grated on many dishes such as pasta.

What is Botargo?
Golden powder that smells of sea water. This amber-coloured nectar is a gift to food lovers from Neptune – or from Mother Nature – one of many unexpected gifts. Botargo is made of the thousands of eggs that female mullets have in their egg sacks – it is one of the tastiest Sardinian foods. Salted, pressed and dried eggs. With a distinct yet delicate taste, velvety texture and a long aftertaste. Its colour ranges from golden yellow to golden reddish.
